Kastler Shoots 77 on First Day of NCAA Regional

Kearney, Neb. - Nebraska-Kearney senior Devon Kastler shot a five over par 77 on the first day of the NCAA Central/West Regional in Palm Desert, Calif.

The 54-hole tournament is being played at the The Classic Club and includes four of the nation's top 13 teams.

Kastler (Ord), tied for 57th place, was even over the first five holes before recording a bogey on the par 3 6th hole. He would go on to shoot three over on the front nine (39) and two over on the back nine (38).

His day included 12 pars and a birdie.

Gordon Webb of RMAC-member Western New Mexico and Trevor Blair of Cal State Stanislaus lead the field, each at a three under par 69.

Eleventh-ranked Western Washington leads the field with a 291 with No. 1 ranked Chico State one stroke back in second. Western N.M. is third (293) while 22nd-ranked Sonoma State is at 294 and Dixie State of Utah at a 295.

Kastler will tee off at 10:40 a.m. Central time on Tuesday from the 10th hole. Complete results, and live scoring, is available at www.csubathletics.com.
