Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney men's golf team will be well represented at the 102nd Nebraska Amateur Championships July 26-29 at Happy Hollow in Omaha.
A total of 144 players qualified for the tournament with each golfer playing at least 36 holes before the cut down after Tuesday's second round.
At a recent qualifying event at Kearney's Meadowlark Hills G.C., Loper senior
Alex Farrell placed runner up with a 67. Gonzaga golfer Kyle Huus won the tourney thanks to a course-record 63.
Also in this qualifier, and making it to Omaha, were sophomore
Jordan Arensdorf (3rd/71), junior
Kris Koelzer (tied 8th/74), junior
Brady Torpin (tied 20th/78) and sophomore
Ryan Grossnicklaus (tied for 17th/77).
