Dick Butolph was the quarterback on the first Kearney State football team to appear in the NAIA playoffs against Prairie View, Texas in 1963. He set Antelope records for touchdown passes with 37, passing yardage of 3,081 and pass completion percentage with a 54.4 mark. In addition to being a great offensive player, Butolph was an NAIA All-American defensive back in 1963. Butolph also lettered two years in track. He coach in California after graduation.
