Gene ‘Bulldog’ Turner, an outstanding player and coach, was inducted posthumously. As an athlete he lettered four years in football and track and two in basketball. He was all-conference as a center in football and set conference record in shot put with a toss of 46’8” in 1954. He coached at Loomis, Axtell and Cozad for 19 years before cancer claimed his life in 1972.
