Jill Garlock was the first woman to be inducted in the Kearney State Athletic Hall of Fame. She graduated in 1971 after earning four letters in basketball, three in swimming and one in softball. She was one of the top triathlon athletes in the Midwest. She was named Nebraska High School Tennis Coach of the Year by the Nebraska Coaches Association in 1981 for her work at Omaha Burke High School.
