A sophomore from Lincoln Southeast, Leffler had the fate of the Loper men's track team in his hands when he took the baton as the anchor for the 4 x 400 relay team.

UNK and Adams State entered the relay tied at 152.50 points in the battle for the team trophy.

The Lopers grabbed the lead for good on the second leg of the relay but Leffler had to work hard to keep Adams, and UCCS, at bay.

Besides being part of a winning relay team, Leffler also placed third at 200 and 400 meters.
