Tobey was named the 2011 RMAC Outdoor Male Field Athlete of the Year after another big performance at the conference meet. 

The Waco native won the discus, shot put and javelin titles while placing fifth in the hammer. ?All that was good for 34 team points.

A now eight-time RMAC champ, Tobey's winning throw in the shot (60-6.75) is a season-best effort and his second automatic NCAA effort this spring.
