A sophomore from Kearney, Shields posted back-to-back double doubles as the Lopers lost to MIAA leader Central Missouri but won at Missouri Southern State.

On Wednesday, Shields had 10 points and 10 rebounds against the Mules. Three days later in Joplin, he went for 18 points and 12 boards. In the two games, he sank 6 of 14 three point shots.
