Schrodt placed runner up in the decathlon at the 2013 MIAA Outdoor Championships in Hays this past weekend.
Leading after the first day, Schrodt ended with a school-record 6,757 points. To reach this total, he won the 100 meter dash, 110 hurdles and long jump while being runner up in the 400, javelin and high jump.
The previous UNK record of 6,734 points was set back in May 1999. Currently, Schrodt ranks 11th nationally in the event.
