Ranked No. 1 in Division II, DeShazer proved he can compete with the big boys as he placed 5th at the Division I Cliff Keen Invite in Las Vegas.

The only non-D1 wrestler in the field to receive a seed (10th), he beat wrestlers from Bucknell, Rutgers (7th-seed), Ohio State (2nd-seed & defending tourney champ) and Virginia (4th-seed) to be the third-ever Loper to place at the Cliff Keen.
