Coming off a season-ending injury, Schmidt had a solid first collegiate meet at the annual Charlie Foster Pre-Holiday Classic. 

She provisional qualified in the shot put by placing third (45-3.75) while coming in eighth in the weight throw (51-0.25). Schmidt was one of two Loper women to make the national list this week, currently tied for 15th in the shot.
