Malcom was one of 14 Lopers to place at the 8th Annual Swede Open at Bethany College. The top-ranked D2 wrestler at 165 pounds, the junior won that class thanks to five bonus point wins. His tally included three tech falls and a major to out score his competition by a 70-10 margin. He then added a fall in 2:10
