University of Nebraska - Kearney Athletics

Won the weight throw at the UNK Pre-Holiday Classic last Thursday in Cushing Coliseum with an NCAA provisional throw of 59-10.75. That almost bested the school mark of 59-11, set by UNK Hall of Famer and two-time national champ Janet Boettcher 18 years ago. 

Schmidt now ranks eighth nationally and second in the MIAA in the weight throw.
