A fifth-year senior from McCook, Liess returned from injury to rush for a career-high 98 yards in a 27-17 win over Adams State.

After hurting his hamstring on a 29-yard TD run in the 1st quarter of the season opener, Liess had been on the sidelines. Not only did he return against the Grizzlies but also at a position he hadn't started at in two years.

The versatile Liess was a running back for the Lopers in 2007 and 2008 before moving to receiver last season. With two backs currently on the shelf for the season, Liess will likely continue to see some time in the backfield.
