A junior co-captain Schmidt broke her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 60-9.25 Friday at the Nebraska Tune Up. The effort was five feet further than the runner up and six inches better than her previous best of 60-3, set earlier this month. Schmidt now ranks second in the MIAA and 14th nationally in the event. She also was fourth in the shot put (46-2.75) at the Tune Up.
