Men's Basketball Beats Duluth in Mankato

Kearney, Neb. - Sophomore guard Max Froehlich scored a career-high 24 points, and went 6 of 6 at the free throw line in the last minute, to lead the Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball team to a 77-71 win over Minnesota-Duluth Friday afternoon at the Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament in Mankato, Minn.

UNK improves to 2-0 while the Bulldogs fall to 1-1.

Moment of the Game

In a contest that featured 14 lead changes and six ties, UNK led by six at the break (37-31) and then led by 10 (55-45) by the 12 minute mark of the 2nd half. However, UMD came all the way back to grab a 67-63 lead with 3:19 to play.

Freshman Akeem Morissaint scored eight straight points -- two 3's and two made free throws -- to give the Lopers the lead back, 71-69, with just over a minute to go. Froehlich's six made freebies then finished the night's scoring.

UNK would got a solid 24 of 27 at the line and also out board the 'Dawgs 36-31.
