Kearney, Neb. - The Fort Hays State men's basketball team finished the first half on a 17-8 run to take control and went on to beat Nebraska-Kearney,
75-60, Tuesday night at the Health & Sports Center.
The Tigers improve to 3-0 and win a third straight game in Kearney. The Lopers, starting a five game home stand, fall to 2-2 on the year.

Josiah Parker and guard Jeremy Cruise, UNK hung with the Tigers for the first 13 minutes. A layup by Parker at the 7:22 mark was the eighth tie (24-24) of the contest.
However, that would be the last tie as a three from Willie Hassell got Hays going, starting a run that made it 41-32 at the break. in the 2nd half, UNK didn't get closer then 11 points.
On the night, Hays had advantages in points of turnovers (17-4), made 3's (6-2) and field goal percentage (43.3 to 42.9).
