Basketball Survives to Beat Wildcats

Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half, to hold on and beat Wayne State 64-56, Tuesday night at the Health & Sports Center.

Wayne State falls to 1-4, while Lopers improve to 4-2

Moment of the Game
UNK held Wayne State without a basket for the last 7:34 of the first half and the first 2:00 of the second half. The Lopers finished the first half on a 17-4 run, to make the score 27-16, which included three 3-pointers by Brian Ridgeway, Jeremy Cruise, and Akeem Morissaint.

After being down by 19, Wayne State went on an 18-6 with 14:00 left in the second half, with the Lopers leading 42-23, during that stretch UNK committed five turnovers. In the second half, Wayne outscored UNK 22-8 points in the paint.
