Pueblo Beats Men's Basketball for Thrid Straight Time

Kearney, Neb. - The Colorado State-Pueblo men's basketball team had five players reach double figures and used a big second half run to beat Nebraska-Kearney, 82-69, Saturday night at the Health & Sports Center.

The Thunderwolves improve to 4-1 (2-0 RMAC) while UNK falls to 5-3 (1-1 RMAC). The Lopers have lost the last three to CSUP but still have a big lead in the all-time series, 22-11

Moment of the Game
UNK overcame a 10-point 1st half deficit to grab a 49-47 lead with just over 14 minutes remaining.  Pueblo used some hot shooting to get out to its lead and that quickly returned as they went on a 21-5 run to open up a 14-point cushion, 68-54.

The key spurt was started by a three from Roman Van Allen and ended on a triple from post reserve Daniel Pierce.  After scoring a season-high 101 points last night in a win over New Mexico Highlands, UNK never found its offensive rhythm and didn't get the deficit under double digits the rest of the way.

For the game, UNK shot a season-low 38.5 percent (25 of 65) from the field. Mean while, Pueblo was at 49.3 percent (33 of 67), including a 10 of 25 effort from beyond the arc.

Josiah Parker (Sr., C, Lincoln) - 18 points on 7 of 10 FG shooting; 10 rebounds; 2nd double double of the year
