Loper Football Teams Up With Red Cross Blood Drive

KEARNEY, NE - The University of Nebraska Kearney Football team will be partnering with the American Red Cross for their 3rd annual Blood Drive scheduled to be held February 1st in the Ponderosa Room in the Nebraskan Student Union from 11:00 AM  till 5:00 PM.

This year the team has set the goal of collecting over 100 units and having community involvement is crucial in achieving this aspiration. "This is a great way for our guys to get involved in something that matters." ,said UNK Assistant Football Coach, Russ Martin. " We want them to leave this place knowing that it's about more than what happens on the field."

"Being involved with the blood drive is a great way for us as athletes to give back to the community for all of the support we receive at games. ", said Loper Quarterback Bobby Adamson.  Many of UNK's football players as well as student-athletes from other sports already give blood at this event.

To make reservations, call 308.865.8018.  Walk-ins are welcome as well.  The process itself takes approx. 1 hour so donors are asked to plan accordingly.

The Loper Football team finished the season as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champions and went on to win their 1st NCAA Division II play-off game in school history by defeating Saginaw Valley State and advancing to the round of 16.
