Froehlich Has Big Night as Men's Basketball Beats Cougars

Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball team got 27 points from sophomore guard Max Froehlich, and went on a 24-5 run, to beat Colorado Christian, 77-68, Friday night in Lakewood, Colo.

The Lopers improve to 9-7 (4-4 RMAC) and snap an three-game losing streak to CCU (5-9, 4-4 RMAC). UNK leads the all-time series between the two, 28-5.

Moment of the Game
CCU led for most of the 1st half but by never more then six points. Ahead 46-40 at the break, the Cougars saw UNK move ahead for good at the 10:12 mark on a three from sophomore wing Chris Deans.

The triple made it 58-56 and was part of the Lopers big surge; Christian held its biggest lead of the night, 54-46, with about 14 minutes to go but found itself down 11, 70-59, about nine minutes later.

UNK held a Christian to just 26.9 percent from the field in the 2nd half (7 of 26), including a 1 of 11 effort from the 3--point line.

The Lopers, mean while, made nearly half its 3-point attempts (10 of 23) on the night and also were in single digits in turnovers (9) for only the third time this winter.
