Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney baseball team continued to play well in the early going by sweeping No 14 Wayne State,
6-4 and
6-1, Saturday afternoon in La Junta, Colo.
The four-game series, held at Otero J.C., was cut short due to expected poor weather on Sunday.
In the the first game, junior 2b
Jordan Mitchelhill (Melbourne, Australia) went 3 for 4 in the lead off spot and senior
Jared Loschen (Kearney) moved to 2-0 on the year by allowing 4 runs in six full innings.
UNK scored four times in the 5th inning to take control, the big blow being a two out, two-run single from junior 3b

Andre O'Connor (Prescott Valley, Ariz.) then powered the Lopers to a game two win by fanning eight in 5.2 innings. He now has 14 K's, and just 4 walks, so far this year.
At the plate, junior catcher
Felix Segovia (Las Vegas, Nev.) went 3 for 3 and led off a three-run 3rd with a solo homer. Mitchelhill (2 for 4) had another big game, pushing his season average to .556
