Men's Basketball Falls to Hot Shooting Regis; Parker Close to 1k in Points

Kearney, Neb. - The Regis University Rangers shot a season-high 61.8 percent from the field to have one of its best offensive nights of the year in an 84-63 win over Nebraska-Kearney Friday night in Denver.

The Lopers (11-13, 6-10 RMAC) lose a second straight and its chances to make the RMAC Tournament diminish greatly with the setback to the Rangers (8-16, 3-13 RMAC). UNK will have to win its last three games, plus get help from several teams, in order to make the eight-team event.

Moment of the Game
UNK, which is now 21-2 vs. Regis over the last 23 games, grabbed a 2-0 lead out of the gates and had the contest tied at 13 at the midway point of the 1st half.

That's when Regis made its move, going on a 23-6 run to open up a 17 point lead by the 3:48 mark. UNK wouldn't get the deficit under double digits the rest of the night.

The Rangers, who scored 48 points last Saturday in a loss to Colorado Christian, went 34 of 55 from the field and also sunk 13 of 18 free throws. This marks the third time this season they reached the 80 point mark.

Regis also had a plus 9 rebounding margin (27-18) and committed 9 fewer turnovers then the Lopers, 18-9.

Josiah Parker (Sr., C, Lincoln) - 6 points in 26 minutes, needs 3 points on Saturday to become 37th Loper to reach 1,000 career points
