Women's Basketball Rolls as Johnson Joins Century Club

Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney women's basketball team made 11 three pointers, tying a season-high, and had a good overall day on the offensive end to breeze past Regis, 83-61, Saturday afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.

UNK (7-13, 6-7 RMAC) wins its fourth in a row and is now tied with Chadron State, a 75-74 loser to Metro State today, for 4th place in the East Division. Mean while, Regis (9-12, 2-11 RMAC) has dropped four straight and eight of nine.

Moment of the Game
In leading nearly the entire way, UNK finished the 1st half on a 13-4 run to open up a double digit lead, 43-29. The Rangers didn't get the deficit under 11 points the rest of the way with the Lopers lead ballooning to as much as 27 points.

UNK shot 50 percent (30 of 60) for the game, the third time this year the team has made at least half its field goals. From beyond the arc, the Lopers were 11 of 27 (40.7 percent), just off the season best effort set against Mesa State (11 of 25) earlier this year.

Kearney also had a season-high 23 assists, out rebounded Regis by seven (39-32) and forced 20 turnovers.
