Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney baseball team is on an eight-game win streak after dominating Colorado Christian this past Sunday and Monday in Colorado.
The series was pushed back two days due to weather and also moved South to Pueblo for the first double header.
In Sunday's games played in Pueblo, UNK won by scores of 13-2 and 20-0. The next day back in Lakewood, the Lopers came out on top 17-3 and 7-3. Due to conference rules, the final two games don't count in the league standings.
UNK is now 17-9 (6-5 RMAC) while Christian falls to 6-20 (0-11 RMAC) and is riding a 16-game skid.
Over the four games, Kearney hit .425 as a team and out scored the Cougars 57-8. Eight different players hit at least .350 with senior SS
Blake Cover (.647/11 for 17) and junior 2b
Jordan Mitchelhill (.600/9 for 15) leading the way.
In the series finale, CCU scored three times in the fourth to grab a 3-1 lead. The Lopers tied things up with single runs in the sixth and seventh and then won the game with a four-run ninth.

UNK will have five home games this week, playing Hastings College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (single nine inning game) and then having a key series against N.M. Highlands this weekend.
