Kearney, Neb. - Nebraska-Kearney head baseball coach
Damon Day announced today his coaching staff for the 2011 season.
Joining the program after a two-year playing career with the Lopers is Trey Howell. He will serve as the team's hitting coach. Also, remaining with the team is pitching coach Jason Miller.
Howell has coached with the Kearney Legion program since graduating from UNK in 2008. As a Loper, he was an infielder and catcher who finished with a .335 career batting average. Earning
second-team All-RMAC honors in 2008, Howell was a part of two RMAC Championship and NCAA Tournament teams.
Miller, a North Platte native, will be in his third year as a Loper assistant.
UNK went 36-20 in 2010, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four years.
