Kearney, Neb. – The 10th ranked University of Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team swept Hastings College
(-8, -15, -17) Wednesday night at the Health & Sports Center.
UNK (13-3) needed just over an hour to sweep the NAIA Broncos (14-9). Hitting .311, the Lopers held Hastings to a negative .042 hitting percentage (23-28-120) thanks to 11.0 team blocks. This marks the fourth time this fall a team has hit below zero against Kearney.
In set one, the Lopers came out firing on all cylinders by out hitting the Broncos .407 (13-2-27) to -.088 (6-9-34). Kills by sophomore outside

Ellie Pesavento (Omaha Marian) gave UNK a 5-1 lead and the Broncos were forced to take a timeout after trailing 9-4.

Kelsey Werner (eight kills, three blocks), kept the pressure on as the lead ballooned to 20-7.
Set two started out the same way with UNK leading by scores of 7-2 and 17-9. The third and final set was a bit closer as there were three ties and two lead changes. But, back to back kills from sophomore
Jena Isaacson (Holdrege) made it 17-8 and the Lopers cruised the rest of the way.
Krolikowski had a team-high 11 kills with Isaacson having six kills and hitting .455 in two sets of work. Off the bench, sophomore setter
Jenna Rouzee (Grand Island NW) had 14 assists, a block and a kill over the second and third sets.
Nebraska Kearney goes on the road to take on Regis University and Metro State College this weekend.
