Aqualopers Swim Past the Flames

Kearney, Neb. – University of Nebraska Kearney women's swimming team defeated the College of Saint Mary 130-62, in a dual Friday night at Cushing Pool.

In duals, UNK improves to 2-1 with the Flames now 1-2.

Overall, the Aqualopers won nine of the eleven events, the only events that the Flames won was the 1,000 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke.

Junior Heather Glodt (Pierre, S.D.), sophomore Brianna Nelsen (Lincoln) and freshman Jayne McGovern (Grand Island) each won two events in the pool for the Aqualopers.

Glodt won the 200 IM (2:22.71) and 100 butterfly (1:04.69). In addition to Glodt wins, Nelsen placed first in the 50 free (27.13) and 100 backstroke (1:11.49), finally McGovern won the 200 freestyle (2:16.34) and the 500 freestyle with a time of (6:00.44).

The Aqualopers return to the pool tomorrow afternoon for a dual against Morningside at 2:00 p.m.
