Kearney, Neb. - Northwest Missouri State sophomore pitchers Jenna Creger and Morgan Brunmeier each tossed complete games to lead the Bearcats to a sweep of Nebraska-Kearney,
5-0 and
6-2, Tuesday afternoon in Maryville, Mo.
Northwest, led by former UNK assistant coach Ryan Anderson, improves to 9-5 while the Lopers fall to 5-10.
Creger (5-3) walked two and gave up just five hits in the first game with Brunmeier (4-1) allowing nine hits, but walking none, in the nightcap.
In game one, Northwest scored three in the first and then tacked on single runs in the third and fourth innings. Cleanup hitter Kristen Hessel hit a two-run homer to highlight the first with second baseman Hailee Hendricks going 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI's.

UNK held a brief lead in the second game as senior
Cassie Keck (Blair) hit a homer in the top of the first. Her 11th homer of 2011, Keck later hit a double and finished 3 for 4.
Northwest tied the game with an RBI single in the second and then erupted for five in the fourth. The big inning included five hits, one Loper error and one hit batter. The big blow in the inning was a one out “Grand Slam” from lead off hitter Kit Daugherty (3 for 4).
