Kearney, Neb. - After playing the first collegiate game at Lincoln's Haymarket Park in the spring of 2002, the Nebraska-Kearney baseball team will be a part of the first collegiate game at Omaha's new Werner Park.
The Lopers will face rival Nebraska-Omaha on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m. in a game presented by No Frills Supermarkets. Gates open at 5:00 p.m.
Home to the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers,
Werner Park is located in Sarpy County. Drivinig in from Kearney, take I-80 to the Hwy. 370 exit. Take a right (East) on Hwy 370 and Werner will be on your left.
“Working to promote metro area baseball programs is very important to our mission at Werner Park,” said Martie Cordaro, vice president and general manager of the Storm Chasers. “With the upcoming move to Division I for UNO baseball, we are excited to host the game between the Mavericks and UNK.”
