Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball team used a big run, and hit 10 thee pointers, to whip Colorado-Colorado Springs, 93-63, Friday in Colorado.

Scoring at least 82 points in its last three games, the Lopers (10-5, 8-4 RMAC) have now won four in a row while the Mountain Lions drop to 7-11 (6-6 RMAC).

It was a close game for much of the first half but UNK used a 37-10 run, encompassing the final three minutes of the first half and the first 10 minutes of the second half, to turn a one point game into a giant lead.

During this stretch, senior forward Chris Deans (Hemingford) hit four of his six three pointers. UCCS, the top three point shooting team in the RMAC, couldn't counter as they sunk just 3 of 17 triples (17.6%) on the night.

Leading by as much as 35 points, the Lopers ended the game shooting 51% (34 of 67) from the field, including a 10 of 21 effort from down town. Besides Deans going 6 of 8, junior guard Akeem Morissaint (Delray Beach, Fla.) went 3 of 5 in the second half.

Not having a turnover after halftime, UNK scored 14 of its points off of nine UCCS miscues and also had a plus six rebounding margin, 44-38.

For the second straight game, Deans went over 20 points as he scored 24 on 8 of 12 shooting. By making those six threes, he becomes just the ninth Loper to have 150 made threes in a career (now at 150).

Inside, sophomore post Mike Dentlinger (Millard North) had 23 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Finally, Morissaint tallied 11 and three others scored nine a piece.
