Mike Dentlinger added a double double, to power Nebraska-Kearney to a 96-75 win at Chadron State Monday night.
The Lopers even its record at 1-1 while this was the season opener for the Eagles. Chadron has now lost its last two games to UNK; in the 2012 season finale, Kearney posted an 86-63 win over CSC in the first round of the RMAC Tournament.
After tallying 25 in Sunday's loss at South Dakota Mines, Henderson (Salt Lake City, Utah) went 12 of 18 from the floor, including sinking 4 of 7 threes. The lefty also made both free throws he attempted.
UNK led most of the night, getting out to a 28-19 advantage 12 minutes into the game. Increasing its lead to 18 a few minutes later, Kearney led by only nine, 45-36, at the break.
However, the Lopers never led the Eagles get closer than seven points in the final 20 minutes. Ahead 72-65 at the nine minute mark, UNK went on a 7-0 run that included three points by Dentlinger (Millard North).
Dentlinger had 18 of his 24 points in the second half thanks to 6 of 8 field goal shooting and a 6 of 9 effort at the line. He also grabbed 10 boards, five coming on the offensive end, to record his sixth career double double
As a team, Kearney shot a solid 54% (33 of 61) from the floor, making 8 of 17 threes along the way. Going 22 of 29 at the line, the Lopers out rebounded Chadron 37-22 and tallied 10 second chance points on 12 o-boards.

Drew Sankey supplying 10 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes.
Five Eagles were in double figures, led by junior Zac Bargen with 15. He is the son of CSC head coach Brent Bargen.
UNK is at Hastings College Tuesday night. The Broncos are 4-0 and will be hosting the Lopers for the first time in nine years.
