Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming team won six freestyle events to edge Northern State,
137-125, Friday night in Cushing Pool.
To beat fellow its fellow NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) member, UNK racked up plenty of points in all the freestyle events.
Tekamah freshman
Skylar Tatreau led the way as she was first in both the 50 (26.07) and 200 free (2:03.62). Her time in the 200 is the seventh best in school history.
She also swam the first leg for the winning 400 free relay team (3:51.31).
Next, Ralston freshman Alex Prochaska won the 100 free (58.10) with Wyoming sophomore
Michelle Reutter taking top prize in the 500 free (5:43.98) and Oklahoma sophomore
Shelby Laramore winning the 1,000 free (111:37.63).
In non-free events, Colorado freshman
Ashleigh Sall was runner up in the 100 (1:07.21) and 200 (2:25.78) backstroke with Tatreau second in the 100 fly (1:06.37).
The Aqualopers enter the pool again November 30
th for the Mutual of Omaha Invite.
