Urban Knights Down Women's Basketball by 10

Box Score Kearney, Neb. - The Academy of Art forced 32 turnovers and got 37 bench points to beat Nebraska-Kearney, 72-62, Sunday afternoon in San Francisco, Calif.

The Urban Knights, a D2 school in the Pac West Conference, improves to 4-0 while the Lopers fall to 2-2.

UNK held "Art U" to 33% (25 of 76) shooting but the Knights countered by pulling down 25 offensive rebounds and stealing the ball 17 times. Those efforts led to 19 second chance points and 33 points off turnovers.

Leading the entire game, Art U. got out to a 10-2 advantage five minutes in. They went on to lead 37-24 at the break and held at least an eight point cushion the entire second half.

Senior forward Ariel Dale, a transfer from Division I Fordham (N.Y.), came off the bench to have team-highs in points (15) and steals (seven) while also grabbing eight rebounds (six offensive).

Next, reserves Jasmin Guinn and Sha'Nice Storey combined for 20 points and 11 boards with freshman starting guard Regina Camera having 14 points and nine rebounds (five offensive).

UNK shook off a cold start to make 48% (14 of 29) of its second half field goals. The Lopers, out rebounded by eight, had 16 offensive caroms and went 16 of 27 (59%) at the line.

Trenton freshman guard Laramey Lewis remained hot as she made 6 of 11 shots (3 of 7 threes) to tally a game-high 18. Playing in her home state, sophomore post Melissa Norman had career highs in points (15) and rebounds (10).

Kearney remains on the road next weekend when it plays in the Radisson Roseville Thanksgiving Classic in St. Paul, Minn. The Lopers will face NSIC members Northern State (Fri.) and Concordia-St. Paul (Sat.).
