KEARNEY –UNK's winter sports will be hosting a flurry of home contests this week against teams from all over the nation. Tomorrow, the men's and women's basketball teams will square off against Lincoln University in their first MIAA contest of the year with the women's tipoff scheduled for 5:30pm and the men's for 7:30pm. Friday, the track and field teams will be hosting a Pre-Holiday Invite in the Cushing Colliseum which will begin at 4pm, and carry on into Saturday with the first event starting at 10am. Wrestling's first open on campus this year will be on Saturday with their first match beginning at 9 am in the Health & Sports Center.
 
The University of Nebraska Kearney is teaming up with the Kearney Family YMCA, Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Marine Corps for their annual “Toy Drive”. Starting this week, a collection bin will be located at each business where you may donate any unwrapped toy to “Toys for Tots” and receive two (2) FREE general admission tickets to a UNK athletic event this December. All toys collected will be distributed to children who need the message of hope this holiday season.
