Box Score Kearney, Neb. – Sophomore right hander Mike Fabrizio threw seven strong innings to lead Colorado State-Pueblo over Nebraska-Kearney, 1
5-9, Friday afternoon at Memorial Field.
The ThunderWolves (16-11, 13-4 RMAC) win a ninth straight time while the Lopers (9-16, 8-9 RMAC) drop to 2-7 at home.
Improving to 5-2, Fabrizio shut out the Loper for the first five innings. He ended up allowing four earned runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
UNK once again fell behind early on, allowing Pueblo to score four runs in the first and three more in the second. Eventually down 12-0, the Lopers did battle back, crossing home plate four times in the seventh and eighth innings.
In Kearney's half of the eighth, CSUP junior lefty Nick Flory entered the game with four in and the bases loaded. Not only did he get a strikeout to get out of the inning, he also fanned the side in the ninth.
Pueblo tallied its runs on 15 hits, 10 walks and four Loper errors. Five different T-Wolves had multi-hit games, including second baseman Chase Lacomb (3 for 3, three runs) and right fielder J.T. Greenhood (2 for 5, two runs, four RBI's).
Using nine different pitchers, UNK was paced by redshirt freshmen
Brandon Landanger (3 for 3) and
Danny Droll (2 for 2, two runs, three RBI's) and juniors
Brandon Pacheco (3 for 5, two runs, one RBI) and
Brian Wuest (3 for 5, one run, two RBI's).
