Sarah Rome had seven RBI's and the Nebraska-Kearney softball team scored 14 runs in one inning to sweep a double header from Black Hills State,
10-5 and
17-1 (5 innings), Sunday in Spearfish, S.D.
The Lopers (15-17, 12-12 RMAC) are 5-0 against the Yellowjackets (5-25, 4-20 RMAC) this season by a combined score of 58-16.
In game one, Rome (Blair) hit a three-run homer to stake the Lopers to a 3-0 lead in the first. UNK continued to pour it on, scoring four times in the second thanks to three hits and three Black Hills errors.
Senior
Kirstie Hiatt (McCook) improved to 9-8 by tossing a 10-hit complete game. She gave up four earned runs and shut out the 'Jackets for the first four innings.

Ali Seberger (Lexington) went 3 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI and sophomore DP
Bailey Backhuus (Bennington) went 2 for 3 with two runs scored from the nine hole.
The second game was a record setter for the Lopers as they crossed home plate 14 times in the first inning. The set featured 17 batters, eight hits, four walks, a hit batter and two BHSU errors.
The big hits in the inning included a Grand Slam by Rome and a two-run triple from senior 1b

For the game, Seberger went 2 for 5 with three RBI's and senior CF
Austin Wilson (McCook) went 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBI's from the lead off spot.
On the mound, Papillion junior
Becky Dunn allowed one run in three innings to reach .500 (6-6) for the season. Backhuus then came in and threw two innings of scoreless relief.
UNK finishes a 14-game road trip Wednesday at NW Missouri State. Chadron State then comes to Dryden Park on Fri./-Sat. That series is moved up due to the Easter Holiday
