Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney softball team looks to leave the RMAC in style by winnining this weekend's RMAC Tournament in Colorado.
The Lopers (24-22) have won 16 of its last 24 games to finish the year fifth in the league standings. This was the tighest RMAC race in years with the top eight teams separated by just a few wins.
UNK begins its quest for a seventh RMAC tourney title Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Central against Colorado Christian (28-25). The Cougars, a first-year program, are led by RMAC Player of the the Year
Hannah Rapoport.
Win or lose, the Lopers will play either top-seed Colorado School of Mines or eighth-seed Colorado Mesa in the next round. Kearney went 2-2 against the Orediggers (29-22) and 3-1 vs. the Mavericks (24-20) this spring.
