Two Former Lopers Signed to NFL Practice Squads

Stephen Goodin
Kearney, Neb. - Former Nebraska-Kearney football players Mason Brodine (St. Louis Rams) and Stephen Goodin (New York Giants) have recently been signed to NFL practice squads.

All NFL teams had to trim their rosters to 53 active players by last Friday and both Brodine (DE/Elm Creek) and Goodin (OL/Hastings) were waived by the Rams and Giants, respectively. However, both signed practice squad deals right away.

Practice squad players practice alongside active roster players during the week but they are not allowed to play in actual games.

Players can be promoted to the active roster of their current team or that of another team. They have free agent status and can sign with any team they wish without compensation to the original team if they are released from the practice squad.

Another Loper, corner Arthur Hobbs, spent the entire preseason with the San Diego Chargers and was waived Friday afternoon. He has yet to sign a practice squad deal.
