Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The 2nd-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team recorded 11 blocks and served up eight aces to roar past the St. Cloud State Huskies (-6, -17, -9) Thursday night at the Health & Sports Center.
This was the first match of the 2012 New Victorian Inn & Suites/Runza Fall Classic and the home opener for the Lopers (4-0).
UNK took a part a young St. Cloud squad in the first set, hitting .417 (11-1-24), recording four team blocks and serving up three aces. Of the Huskies six points in the set, three came via kill, one came on a block and the other two were the result of Loper service errors.
For the match, St. Cloud hit -.136 as they had 16 kills and 31 errors in 110 attempts. UNK cooled off after the first set and ended up at .207 (30-11-92).
Nine different Lopers registered at least one kill with three players having six a piece. One of those was junior middle
Katie Sokolowski (Kearney Catholic), who also supplied eight blocks and four digs.

Kaleigh Anderson (Lincoln SW) at a team-best 16 digs.
St. Cloud was led by Rachel Burke's seven kills and 11 digs.
UNK plays Maryville, Mo. (12:00 p.m.) and Northern State (6:00 p.m. tomorrow with matches also being played at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
