# 5 Jennies Down # 7 Lopers

Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The 5th-ranked Central Missouri Jennies got a combined 24 kills from Taylor Goodness and Carly Sojka to sweep 7th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney (-21, -21, -18) Friday night in Warrensburg.

This was the regular season finale for the Lopers (26-5, 12-4). They'll be the third seed in next week's eight-team MIAA Tournament.

The Jennies (28-1, 14-1) can secure the 2013 MIAA regular season title, and the top seed in the league tourney, with a win over Fort Hays State Saturday night.

Recording just 10 more kills than the Lopers, 44-34, UCM grabbed a 1-0 lead in the match by closing the first set on a 5-1 run.

Sojka recorded one of her 14 kills and then UNK had an unforced hitting error. A solo block by UCM's Maddie Jones followed and it was suddenly 23-20. A Loper service error and an ace by libero Annie Reilly closed out the set.

Central Missouri didn't trail in either the second or the third sets. The Lopers, however, kept things close, trailing 22-20 in the second set after a kill by senior outside Ashley Leitner (Lincoln SW).

After the teams traded kills, UNK served one into the net and then Goodness and Haley Thompson combined on a block to make it 25-21.

The Jennies then jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the final set.

As a team, UCM had six service aces and tallied four more blocks, 8-4, and one more dig, 62-62, than the Lopers. UNK also had three more hitting errors to hit nearly 100 points lower than UCM, .214 to .120.

Individually, Sojka hit .256 and added nine digs with Goodness at 10 kills and three digs. Also, Thompson had six kills and a team-best five blocks.

Five different Lopers had between four and 10 kills, including senior middle Katie Sokolowski (Kearney Catholic) and sophomore setter Erin Seele (Johnstown, Colo.).

In addition to 25 assists and 15 digs, Seele didn't have a hitting error to post a .417 efficiency.

UNK will host an MIAA tourney match Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. against a team to be determined.
