Last year in Kearney, UNK beat the 'Diggers, 75-72, but this Mines team just got back several of its stars from its 29-2 team of two years ago. Â They included guards Brett Green (12 points, three assists and three rebounds) and Trevor Ritchie (17 points, seven assists, three steals and two rebounds).

Never trailing, Mines closed the first half on a 13-6 run to lead 45-28 at the break. The stretch featured six made free throws, an area where the 'Diggers were 27 of 33 (82%).

Having a plus 12 rebounding margin and scoring 21 points off 16 UNK turnovers, Mines shot 53% (34 of 64) from the floor that included a 9 of 18 effort from downtown.Â

Posts Trevor Wages and Luke Meisch combined for 25 points and 16 rebounds with reserve Gokul Natesan having a team-high 18 points thanks to five made buckets and five made freebies.
