Lopers Whip Eagles by 28

Box Score Kearney, Neb. – Sophomore Connor Beranek had a double double as the Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball team rolled past Chadron State, 88-60, Sunday afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.
 
UNK (2-2) gets back to the .500 mark while Chadron falls to 3-1.
 
Leading by many as 35 points, the Lopers dominated in all phases. UNK outscored the Eagles 42-16 in the lane, had a plus 11 rebounding margin and held Chadron to 13.8% shooting (4 of 29) in the first half.
 
Kearney led 45-20 at intermission and was ahead 80-45 with 4:36 to play before Chadron went on a 13-1 run.  For the afternoon, the Eagles shot 27.6% (16 of 58), 63.9% (23 of 36) from the line and committed 16 turnovers.
 
Meanwhile, UNK made nearly half its shots (31 of 65), including a respectable 7 of 13 effort from behind the arc.
 
One of three Loper starters to reach double digits, Beranek (Ravenna) had 24 points and 11 rebounds. Having 17 points and nine boards in the first half, he went 8 of 20 from the field (2 of 6 threes), 6 of 6 at the line with eight of his caroms being on the defensive end.
 
Next, Benkelman senior post Kendal Glidden made 6 of 10 shots to tally 15. He also had seven boards and two blocks. Also, Kearney junior forward Tyler Shields scored 13 on 3 of 5 three point shooting.
 
Finally, in the starting backcourt, Nevada junior Davion Pearson and Omaha freshman Kevin Dineen each scored nine points while combining for six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
 
The Lopers are off until a December 5th road date at Missouri Southern State.
