Katie Weber had 12 kills and hit .600 to help the 6th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team sweep York College (-13, -14, -15) Tuesday night at the Health & Sports Center.

The Lopers improve to 12-1 while the NAIA Panthers slip to 2-13. This was believed to be the first-ever meeting between UNK and York on the volleyball court.

Weber (Greeley, Colo.) was one of 11 different Kearney players to register a kill in a match that lasted just over an hour. Having no errors in 20 swings, she also provided three blocks and one dig.

UNK hit .380 as a team and dug up 24 more balls, 58-34, than the Panthers. In the serve game, the Lopers had five aces, two coming from freshman DS

Molly O'Brien (Overland Park, Kans.) got hot late to finish with six kills in 10 attempts and sophomore outside
MJ Massanet (Manhattan, Kans.) saw her first offensive action of the season, tallying four kills over the final two sets.

Hannah Afman (Denver) handed out 29 assists, dug up seven balls, had a kill and a block.

The Lopers are at Division II independent South Dakota Mines Friday night. Earlier this month, Kearney swept the Hardrockers (-15, -15, -18).
