Ethan Brozek and
Mike Dentlinger combined for 35 points and 10 rebounds to power the Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball team to an 84-67 win over the Hastings Broncos Sunday at Lynn Farrell Arena.

UNK (5-8) wins on the road for the first time in seven tries while the Broncos, ranked 17th in NAIA Division II, fall to 13-5.

There were three ties and three lead changes in the 189th meeting between these two schools with Kearney in the driver's seat for the final 28 minutes. Up 37-31 at the break, UNK saw Dentlinger (Millard North) hit back-to-back buckets early in the second half to open up a double digit lead, 47-37.

The Loper lead remained between eight and 12 points for the next eight minutes before junior wing
Tyler Shields (Kearney H.S.) hit a three and Brozek (Norfolk Catholic) followed with a jumper after a Bronco turnover.

That made the score 72-57 and Hastings didn't get closer than 11 the rest of the way.

Already having a height advantage, the Lopers had even more today as 6-7 senior Dylan Flynn couldn't go for Hastings due to injury.

Brozek (6-7, 215 lbs.) came off the bench to have a game-high 21 points 9 of 12 field goal shooting. Also grabbing six rebounds (five defense), his point total was two shy of his career-high, set two years ago vs. Metro State.

Dentlinger (Millard North) missed just once in seven field goal attempts to end with 14 points. All four of his boards came on the defensive end and he also had two assists and a steal.

Shooting 61.7% from the floor (29 of 57), including a 6 of 11 effort from behind the arc, the Lopers also went 20 of 24 at the line. Hastings did have a plus one rebounding margin and were plus two in the turnover battle.

Also for Kearney, Las Vegas junior point guard
Davion Pearson had 15 points, five assists and five rebounds with junior reserve
Delquan Thomas (Louisville, Ky.) at nine points and two boards. Finally, Omaha freshman
Kevin Dineen had five points and five steals.

Four Broncos were in double figures, led by Brady Lollman with 16 (5 of 13 shooting). He came in averaging just over 20 points per game.
