Kearney, Neb. – The 7th-ranked UNK Volleyball team hosts the 5th-ranked Ichabods of Washburn on Tuesday, October 14th in a crucial match for MIAA supremacy.

In conjunction with this game, UNK is hosting a "Pack the House" event in an effort to surpass the previous 2014 season attendance record of 1,511 set in September when the Lopers played host to Fort Hays State.

"UNK has taken pride in leading NCAA Division II in volleyball attendance over the years," said Assistant Athletic Director Shawn Koehn-Fairbanks. "Our fans know what good volleyball looks like and match-ups versus some of the region's best competition provide our fans with a great atmosphere to experience it."

Tuesday's pivotal match will be the first of the season between UNK and Washburn and with both teams ranked in the top-10 in NCAA Division II, the stakes are high.

"Washburn is a perennial MIAA contender and will likely be one of the teams considered for the NCAA tournament.  Wins against teams like WU can keep us in the hunt for a conference championship and NCAA tournament bid," said UNK Head Coach, Rick Squiers.
