Tara Ziegelbein combined for 29 kills as the 7th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball dominated Missouri Southern State (-13, -15, -16) Saturday evening in Joplin.
UNK is now 19-2 (11-2) while the Lions slip to 5-16 (2-11).
MSSU was just two points shy of upsetting 21st-ranked Central Missouri last weekend but eventually fell 16-14 in the fifth set. Today, the Lions had 16 kills and 23 errors to hit negative .076.
Recording 16 kills in the set second alone, UNK hit .265, registered eight blocks, had six aces and dug up 49 balls.
Currie (Vail, Colo.) paced the offense with 11 kills and a .526 hitting efficiency. She also had eight digs, three block assists and an ace.
Another outside hitter, Broadwell (Lawrence, Kans.) registered 10 kills and a .400 attack percentage with Ziegelbein (Lincoln Lutheran) at eight kills and six blocks from the middle. Next, senior libero
