Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming team won six events to get past the College of St. Mary Flames,
125-65, Saturday afternoon in Cushing Pool.
The Aqualopers started the dual by winning the 200 medley relay in 2:03.67. The foursome included true freshmen
Kylie Kenedy (Omaha Burke) and
Alana Bucholtz (Manhattan, Kans.).
UNK then went 1-2-3 in the 1,000 free, led by Oklahoma senior
Shelby Laramore. Winning by 32 seconds, she turned in a 12:03.63.
Two events later, Tekamah junior
Skylar Tatreau placed first in the 200 individual medley (2:19.67) and then Omaha sophomore
Melanie Pennington was the only competitor in the 200 fly (2:41.13).
The Aqualopers other wins came from Colorado sophomore
Mackenzie Eubank in the 500 free (5:45.03) and Omaha junior
Brianna Monter in the 200 breaststroke (2:46.37). Of note, Laramore was runner up in the 500 free (5:50.27) and was part of the second place 400 free relay team (4:01.23).
Finally, Kenedy was second in the 100 free (1:00.67) and third in the 50 free (27.49).
UNK is off until November 8th when they are at CSM in Omaha.
