Box Score Kearney, Neb. – Junior outside hitter Carly Sojka had 21 kills and 13 digs top help the 17th-ranked Central Missouri Jennies beat 5th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney in four sets (21-25, -28, -18, -24) Saturday evening in Warrensburg.
 
The Jennies (10-6, 7-1) have now beaten UNK (14-2, 7-2) three straight times.
 
Last year, in the MIAA and NCAA Tournaments, Sojka had a combined 47 kills as UCM beat UNK in two five sets matches. She reached her kill total today in 59 swings with just five errors (.270 attack pct.).

The Jennies also recorded 12.5 team blocks and got 16 kills from middle Haley Thompson.
 
UNK pulled away to win the first set and was up 24-23 in the second after a block from junior setter Erin Seele (Johnstown, Colo.) and freshman middle Tara Ziegelbein (Lincoln Lutheran).
 
Not only did UCM tie it at 24 but they fought off three more set points to stay alive. Finally, an unforced Loper error, service ace and kill by Thompson tied the match at one.
 
Holding UNK to a .108 hitting percentage, the Jennies controlled the third set and were up in the fourth before a late Loper rally. A Sojka unforced error tied things up at 24 after Kearney fell behind by scores of 6-2, 15-12 and 22-20.

However, Sojka and Thompson responded with kills to end the match. Hitting .192, UCM had 10 fewer digs than the Lopers, 98-88, and also had nine more service errors, 11-2.
 
Junior right side Kelle Carver (Shawnee Mission, Kans.) had a team-best 13 kills with freshman outside LaRose Currie (Vail, Colo.) having 10 in taking a team-high 55 swings.
 
Off the bench, sophomore outside Kinslie TeKolste (Lincoln SE) had 11 kills, four blocks and three digs. In the middle, Ziegelbein had nine kills, seven blocks and six digs.

Finally, senior libero Liz McGowan (G.I. Central Catholic) had a match-high 32 digs with junior setter Erin Seele (Johnstown, Colo.) moving over 2,000 career assists, the eighth Loper to do so.
 
UNK hosts NW Missouri State and Missouri Western State next weekend
