Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney Aqualopers split a
triangular on Friday night in Sioux City, Ia., beating Morningside College, 127-78, and falling to Iowa Lakes C.C., 123-82.
UNK is now 3-1 on the young season.
The Aqualopers only win came from freshman
Alana Bucholtz (Manhattan, Kans.) as she swam the 100 backstroke in a seaon-best 1:05.12. That time also is tied for the ninth fastest in school history.
Bucholtz also was lead for the 200 medley relay team that placed second in 1:58.05. Tekamah junior
Skylar Tatreau was the anchor and she went on to place second in the 200 free (2:03.55) and 100 free (56.05).
Also for UNK, Kansas sophomore
Zhu Zhu Lundin Daniels was runner up in the 100 fly (1:04.23) with Oklahoma senior
Shelby Laramore third in the 1,000 free (11:45.74).
UNK stays in Iowa for the Morningside Invite on Saturday.
